About the Museum
The Bemberg Foundation, assembled by Argentine Georges Bemberg, is one of Europe’s largest private art collections. The collection showcases European painting and drawing from the Middle Ages through the 20th centuries and is particularly rich in Renaissance and French modern paintings and features 30 paintings by Post-Impressionist artist Pierre Bonnard. It also includes furniture, bronzes, books, and other works of art. The Bemberg Foundation is located in the Hôtel d’Assézat, a 16th-century French hôtel particular (palace) originally built for a prosperous merchant named Pierre Assézat and renovated in 1995 to house the collection.
