Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, known as S.M.A.K. is a contemporary art museum showcasing the best of Belgian and international artists with cutting edge and often provocative exhibits. One of the largest contemporary art collections in Belgium, S.M.A.K. is home to over 3,000 works dating from World War II to today. The works in the collection encompass traditional media such as painting, sculpture, works on paper and photographs, to video, films and computer-rendered works, installations, live performances and audio works. Artists represented in the collection include Andy Warhol, Maria Abramovic, Christo, Carl Andre, Cathy Wilkes, Francis Bacon, David Hockney, Jim Dine, and Juan Munoz.
