Comprehensive venue for Chinese modern and contemporary art
The Powerlong Art Museum is dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese culture and supporting Chinese contemporary art. This non-profit private museum spans 23,000 square meters across 10 galleries and is located in Shanghai’s Minhang District. Its striking design features a monumental spiral ramp reminiscent of Frank Gehry’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Founded by Xu Jiankang, chairman of the Powerlong Group, the museum includes three galleries showcasing his private collection of modern and contemporary art. In addition to exhibiting 19th- and 20th-century Chinese ink works, the museum hosts diverse temporary exhibitions, with past presentations highlighting Japanese art, Western art and immersive digital installations.
