Hub for art, fashion and culture, where “beauty creates beauty”

PM23, the new cultural venue by Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti, is located in Rome’s Piazza Mignanelli 23, a meticulously restored late-19th-century building that once served as a Vatican school and printing house. Transformed by Nemesi Architects, the historic site now serves as a platform for an exhibition and cultural program focused on the interplay between fashion, art and society — where beauty is understood as a catalyst for progress. Adjacent to the Valentino headquarters, PM23 launched with the exhibition “Horizons | Red,” an exploration of the multifaceted dimensions of the color red, a signature and recurring motif throughout Valentino’s five-decade-long fashion journey. Curated by Pamela Golbin and art historian Anna Coliva, the exhibition features modern and contemporary art by Francis Bacon, Gerhard Richter, Helen Frankenthaler, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Jean-Michel Basquiat and others, shown alongside 50 archival garments, including Valentino’s first 1959 Fiesta dress. In addition to its comprehensive exhibitions program, the foundation — established in 2016 as a philanthropic initiative — will host a range of cultural and educational activities at PM23, including workshops, talks, events and a scholarship program to foster emerging design talent.
