Pérez Art Museum Miami

Miami, Florida | United States

Tropical vitality and fresh modernism make one of Miami's most impressive spaces

Pérez Art Museum Miami is a flagship museum featuring modern, contemporary and international art. Its innovative exhibitions highlight Miami’s diverse community and in particular links to Cuba and Latin America, with the permanent collection placing emphasis on artists from the Americas, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora. Established in 1984 as the Center for the Fine Arts, and later named the Miami Art Museum, it reopened in 2013 with major support from the real estate entrepreneur and collector Jorge M. Pérez in a new building designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron. In 2015, the writer and curator Franklin Sirmans became director, foregrounding the institution’s multicultural outlook and cementing it as a major player in Miami’s development as a cultural destination. PAMM also offers waterfront dining at its Verde restaurant and spectacular views of Biscayne Bay.
