About the Museum

The Pavillon Populaire is a free exhibition space located in Montpellier that features three temporary rotating exhibitions throughout the year. Since the 1990s its focus has been contemporary photography, and it presents work by local and international artists. The building itself was design and built by Léopold Carlier in 1891, and has historic significance for the town. It is located in the center of Montpellier next to the Place de la Comédie.
