About the Museum

Founded in 2011 by Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, the Museum of the Palm Grove is the first permanent exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art in Marrakech.

Located at the gates of the Palmeraie in a two-hectare park in the heart of Douar Tounsi, contemporary art and nature meet and complement through different spaces.
The exhibitions of the works of forty Moroccan artists, including Hassan El Glaoui, Belkahia Farid Mohamed Melihi, Saladi Abbes are presented in old farm buildings in adobe rehabilitated for the occasion. Many arts are showcased in the collection of works well together: painting, calligraphy, sculpture, photography, etc.

The Museum also organizes regular exhibitions.
The two-hectare park is organized into thematic gardens. Garden Dry and water garden, vegetable garden and orchard, fragrant roses and Andalusian gardens transport visitors in natural environments reminiscent of nature yesterday and the tamer of the palm grove now. According to the desire of its founder, the site is finally a place of exchange and encounters in particular integrating the populations of neighboring do-ers in cultural projects of the museum.
