Palais de Glace

Buenos Aires | Argentina

About the Museum

Founded in 1910, Palais de Glace was originally built to house an ice skating rink, the first in Buenos Aires. It later served as a dance ballroom, before being transformed into an exhibition center in 1931. It is now home to the country’s preeminent space for contemporary Argentine art. It hosts the annual Salon Nacional de Artes Visuales, one of Argentina’s most important art exhibitions that awards prizes in painting, sculpture, design, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, photography, and new media. It also holds a permanent collection over 1,000 works of art as well as a research library.
