New York Botanical Garden

Bronx, New York | United States

About the Museum

A museum of living plants arranged within gardens and landscapes, this National Historic Landmark site features one of the world’s most diverse collections of flora. The NYBG spreads throughout 250 acres of dramatic rock outcroppings, rolling hills, waterfalls, ponds, the Bronx River and a 50-acre remnant of the forest that once covered New York City – in all, among the most beautiful terrains of any botanical garden in the world. Exhibitions presented on the grounds are usually seasonally themed and include the extremely popular Holiday Train Show during winter, the Orchid Show in spring, a changing summer show and, during autumn, a diverse array of thoughtful explorations such as Kiku: Japanese Chrysanthemums. The Family Garden, which features vegetables and fruits and the Children’s Adventure Garden, are two particularly family-friendly areas.
