The history of aviation on a former Scottish airfield

The National Museum of Flight occupies a well-preserved Second World War airfield and houses among Europe’s best collections of aircraft, with some 50 on show. Exhibits span the history of aviation from the First World War to the present day; visitors can board a Concorde and see inside a Boeing 707 cockpit, engage in interactive displays and explore the extensive hangars and grounds. The museum is located about 20 miles east of Edinburgh, on the grounds of the former Royal Air Force station, East Fortune.
