About the Museum

The National Buffalo Museum is a nonprofit educational organization located in Jamestown, North Dakota that highlights the history of bison. Comprised of a 6,000 square foot facility, in addition to the galleries focused on the history of bison in the plains culture, it also features exhibits on Plains Indian artifacts, artwork, 19th century firearms, remains of prehistoric bison and other North Dakota wildlife. Additionally, they host live community events and educational programs.

The museum also maintains a live herd of around 30 animals, which includes the rare white buffalo, Dakota Miracle. They roam on approximately 200 acres of land, and are one of the biggest draws for the museum.
