About the Museum

The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) is part of the artistic community of the College of Saint Benilde’s School of Design and Arts and offers the experience of and exposure to contemporary art within Manila.
MCAD is a non-collecting institution, meaning it focuses on temporary exhibitions, public programs and other cultural and art-inspired projects. The focus always is contemporary art, and in particular, technology and new media. It presents content that encourages engagement with art and culture, its practice and production, as well as its presentation and interpretation. Its exhibitions reflect and respond to changes in society, politics and the production of ideas. It is free to visitors, which highlights its goal to be inclusive to a cross-section of social classes.
