Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology

Museum of Art, Architecure and Technology (MAAT) is a museum in Lisbon that focuses on contemporary art, architecture and technology. It aims to exhibit shows focused on national and international artists, architects and thinkers. Located along the River Tagus, it was designed by Amanda Levete Architects, and was inspired by the rippling on the water. The design also includes a promenade along the river. Overall, the museum was built to help revitalize the area. It was opened in 2016, and also organizes educational programs that teach these subjects to all ages. Often exhibited in the space is the EDP Foundation Art Collection that originated in 2000, and showcase several generations of over 250 contemporary Portuguese artists, as well as various fields and disciplines of artistic creation.
