Countryside collection of art without borders
The Museum No Hero is the creation of Dutch art collector Geert Steinmeijer, inspired by his belief that art and culture have no single hero. Opened in 2018, the museum showcases a diverse array of artists and brings together works that span cultures, time periods and styles. Its global collection includes paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics and installations from the last five centuries, with a noted focus on Dutch and German art alongside significant contributions from Chinese and Vietnamese artists. The museum is housed in the beautifully restored 18th-century mansion “Huis aan de Singel,” set among serene gardens in the charming town of Delden. It focuses on making the visitor the hero, inviting them to explore connections across traditions, histories and cultural perspectives.
