About the Museum
The National Museum of Cultures (Museo Nacional de las Culturas del Mundo) is one of the five national museums of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. Its important collections gave rise to the foundation of other important museums such as the first Museum of Natural History in the Chopo building, the National Museum of History in the Chapultepec Castle in 1940 and the National Museum of Anthropology in 1964.
