Educational forum for geometric abstraction
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) in Buenos Aires is a private museum founded in 2012 by Argentine collector and financier Aldo Rubino. Located next to the the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires (MAMBA) in the San Telmo neighborhood, MACBA focuses on geometric abstraction. Artists in the permanent collection include Argentines Raúl Lozza, Fabián Burgos, Verónica Di Toro, Julio Le Parc and Enio Iommi, as well as international artists such as Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, Sarah Morris, Olivier Mosset and James Turrell. The concrete and glass building, designed by the local studio Vila Sebastian Arquitectos, spans seven floors and three lower levels, allowing for a rolling program of special events and temporary exhibitions.
