Monterrey Glass Museum (Museo del Vidrio)

The Monterrey Glass Museum (Museo del Vidrio) highlights the history of glassmaking in Mexico. It has preserved artifacts related to the history of the craft, and educates its visitors on the history of glassmaking in Mexico and its influences from Europe. The story is told chronologically throughout the museum. There is also a gallery that highlights contemporary glassmaking. It also includes a factory to illustrate the production and distribution of glass. It is located at the site of what was Vitro’s original factory. It was established in 1989 under the endorsement of Mexico’s Institute of Anthropology and History.
