A celebration of style

Musée Des Arts Décoratifs

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) is a testament to French savoir-faire since the Medieval period, with collections that encompass the history of furniture, interiors, graphic design and advertising, textiles and fashion, and jewelry. The seven-story museum and its reference library are located on Rue de Rivoli within the Palais du Louvre. The permanent exhibition charts a journey through history spanning more than 6,000 objects including a rich collection of art deco and art nouveau objects and exemplary pieces of contemporary design. Thematic displays and 10 period rooms—a distinctive element of this museum—punctuate the visitor route. The Musée des Arts Décoratifs also oversees the Musée Nissim de Camondo, dedicated to French 18th-century decorative arts in a fully preserved mansion house; it is closed for refurbishment until early 2026.
