About the Museum

M.R. Kukrit's House is a heritage museum in downtown Bangkok, Thailand that is dedicated to the former Prime Minister of Thailand, Kukrit Pramoj (1911-1995). The museum consists of five teak houses, the earliest of which is more than 100 years old. The museum holds a rich collection of artifacts, including ceramics, antique objects, fine arts, and rare books and scriptures. As a traditional Thai home, the garden plays a key role in the design of Kukrit's house. Two low walls on either side of the garden connect the main hall in front to the houses in the rear of the property. The museum is dedicated to celebrating M.R. Kukrit’s love of traditional Thai art and literature.
