About the Museum

Built to the exact specifications of artist Frederic Lord Leighton, the Leighton House Museum is a remarkable example of Victorian architecture and taste. The house features an extraordinary "Arab Hall" lined with Islamic tiles as well as Leighton’s vast painting studio and extensive examples of work by the painter and his contemporaries. A highlight of the collection is Clytie, Leighton’s final work, that has been described as "one of the last major statements of High Victorian art".
