About the Museum

Founded in 2000, the Fondation Carmignac manages Edouard Carmignac’s corporate collection, which focuses on modern and contemporary art and reflects his artistic interests over the past 25 years.

Under the direction of Charles Carmignac, the Foundation opened the Villa Carmignac on 2 June 2018 – a new site on the island of Porquerolles in the South of France. Situated in the heart of a national park and dedicated to contemporary art, the Foundation allows visitors to discover contemporary artworks from the Carmignac Collection, a sculpture garden and to enjoy a rich programme of cultural events, and temporary exhibitions.

The next exhibition at Villa Carmignac is opening on April 13th and it will be on view until 3 November. The foundation has invited Chiara Parisi as a guest curator. Both the architecture of the Villa and the island itself have provided inspiration for La Source (The Source), the resulting show. Emerging from the woods, visitors are invited to take off their shoes before plunging beneath the surface of the Provençal farmhouse, where they can discover over fifty artworks from the collection, as well as important loans and new productions.
