About the Museum
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is the premier conservation- and education-based tropical botanic garden in the world, with important field studies in more than 20 countries in South and Central America, the Caribbean, South East Asia and elsewhere, as well as an active education programme at home that reaches nearly 200,000 students. People come here to gather amidst the beauty of nature; and indeed, the garden’s international mango, chocolate and orchid festivals are as popular as they are spectacular. But music and art, including four monumental sculptures by John Chamberlain, are also an important draw, as the center grows into its complementary role as cultural community leader. The Art at Fairchild programme brings in seasonal and permanent exhibits from prominent artists including Dale Chihuly, Roy Lichtenstein, Yayoi Kusama, Claude and Francois-Xavier Lalanne, Mark di Suvero, Yoko Ono, Fernando Botero, Kris Martin, Will Ryman and Jorge Pardo.
