About the Museum
Located in Copenhagen’s historic city centre, the Designmuseum Danmark features a bold collection of crafts, art and industrial design from all over the world. Highlights include a world-leading collection of East Asian furniture; works in silver, ceramics, fashion and textiles reaching from the prehistoric era to the present; a poster collection that documents the commercial, cultural, and political developments in poster history from the 1800s to today; and the biggest library for design in Scandinavia. Designmuseum Danmark’s archives include sketches and work by renowned Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Kaare Klint, and Jacob Jensen, and host a fully annotated and illustrated database for all furniture made in Denmark from 1900 to 2000, originally compiled and donated to the museum by Reese and Marilyn Palley.
