Buffalo Bill Center of the West

Founded in 1917, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is a complex of five museums and a research library located in Cody, Wyoming. The collection focuses on art and artifacts of the American West. The five museums include the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indians Museum, the Whitney Western Art Museum, the Draper Natural History Museum, and the Cody Firearms Museum. The center was founded to preserve the legacy of Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, and has grown to be the most comprehensive museum of the American West. The center offers family-friendly educational activities, exhibitions, and programs, and aims to inspire, educate, and engage global audiences in an authentic experience with the American West.
