About the Museum
The Arthur Secunda Museum celebrates the life and work of one of Michigan’s most accomplished artists. Arthur Secunda is an internationally renowned artist whose art career began in Detroit, Michigan more than 65 years ago. Secunda is known for his brilliant collages, striking graphics and iconic landscapes of the late 1970s and 1980s, which incorporate a specific kind of color gradation and blending of forms. Secunda’s one-man shows have been seen in numerous galleries and museums in Europe, North America and Asia. He is also represented in most major museums, including the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.; the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena, California; the National Gallery of Australia; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, France; and the National Museum, Stockholm, Sweden.
