About the Museum

An exhibition space specially customized from three warehouse units, the Main Gallery is a venue for temporary and traveling exhibitions of local, regional and international artists curated by guest curators from Singapore and abroad. It was inaugurated in 2003 with a retrospective of Wu Guanzhong, one of China's greatest modern artists. The Main Gallery has since featured a solo exhibition by Singapore artist Siew Hock Meng, known for his excellent landscapes and human figures in pastel and oil, a selection of paintings by Affandi, Sudjojono, Bonnet and others from the Art Retreat collection, a retrospective of the late Singaporean/Indonesian artist Lee Man Fong, and a joint show of works by leading Indonesian pioneer artists.
