Highlights of Fall Modern and Contemporary

Sotheby’s is pleased to exhibit highlights from our fall Modern and Contemporary auctions in East Hampton October 6-9. The exhibition is led by Alexander Calder’s Untitled from 1964, hailing from the Estate of Katherine Stillman, whose parents, Rufus and Leslie Stillman, were early advocates of modernism and commissioned Marcel Breuer to design several homes for them in Litchfield, Connecticut. The exhibition also features works by David Hockney, Joan Mitchell and Adolph Gottlieb from the Collection of Jay I. Kislak, which will be sold to benefit the Kislak Family Foundation.
