Experience Sandro Botticelli’s profoundly arresting and highly original Man of Sorrows, a seminal work of the Florentine artist’s late career and an incredibly exciting highlight of our Master Paintings and Sculpture Part I sale. Other artworks on preview are paintings by Giovanni Bellini, Pieter van Mol, Hendrick Avercamp; examples by pioneering female artists, including a beautiful portrait by Artemisia Gentileschi and a monumental still-life by Anne Vallayer-Coster; and an Egyptian limestone figure of a man from the late 5th dynasty (circa 2350-2290 B.C.).
