To celebrate its 150th anniversary, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) is going to organize the Skateboard Deck Art Exhibition cum Online Charity Auction, fully supported by Sotheby’s Hong Kong, from 19 to 28 August 2020 at the Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery, showcasing nearly 60 lots of ingenious skateboard deck art designed by renowned artists and celebrities from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as TWGHs i-dArt artists. Each lot is unique and exclusively produced for this charity event only. The Online Charity Auction will be held at the same period from 18 to 28 August to raise funds in support of TWGHs students’ art and music education.
Founded in 1870, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals is the first charitable organization in Hong Kong. Rooted in Hong Kong for 150 years, TWGHs has been upholding its mission “To heal the sick and to relieve the distressed, to care for the elderly and to rehabilitate the disabled, to promote education and to nurture the youngsters, and to raise the infant and to guide the youth.” In responding to the changing needs of the society, TWGHs has over the years developed diversified medical and health, education and social services, and become one of the largest charitable organizations in Hong Kong, with 343 service units operating to serve the needs of people from all walks of life.
