African & Oceanic Art

Overview

Since the now-legendary sale of Helena Rubinstein’s collection in 1966 at Sotheby Parke-Bernet in New York, Sotheby’s has been dedicated to African and Oceanic Art and has sold many of the most notable collections to come to the market over the past 60 years.

Sotheby’s holds regular African and Oceanic auctions in our two principal selling locations, New York and Paris. Our international experts also conduct Private Sales throughout the year and are available to advise collectors and institutions on buying, selling, valuations, and collecting strategy.
