Description
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was created in 1931 to withstand polo matches by reversing the case to reveal a back that fully protects the face of the watch. This vintage Reverso timepiece from c. 1940 is presented with a stainless steel case that measures 24 by 38 mm. The art deco inspiration of the geometric case makes this an unmistakably classic timepiece. The case is mounted onto a black calfskin strap fitted with a tang buckle. The watch is equipped with a hand-wound JLC movement. The cream-toned dial features central hours and minutes, and small seconds. The reverse steel back is clean and free from a monogram (most of the vintage Reverso have one).
Condition Report
Very GoodThe watch is in overall very good condition with minor wear throughout commensurate with age. Discoloration to the dial and hands. The strap has been replaced. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
