Description
Being the first Daytona to feature an Oyster dial, Reference 6240 was an important milestone in the history of Daytonas. This rarely seen model is a chronograph wristwatch made in 1965, and it features an attractive black dial and screw-down pushers.
Condition Report
Watch is in good overall condition with a case that has been previously polished with good proportions.
Case shows normal signs of use throughout, commensurate with its age.
Bezel insert shows signs of age and use throughout.
Dial is in good condition with light dirtying of the sub-registers and the loss of the 3 o'clock lume plot.
Hands are service replacements.
Bracelet is stamped 4.68 and is likely later for the watch.
Movement is running at time of cataloguing; however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
