Description
Inspired by the Nautilus, Patek Philippe's Aquanaut was released in 1997 with a more modern design geared towards younger collectors. The octagonal case was similar to the porthole shape of the Nautilus, but it was slimmer without the latch-like "ears" extending from its sides. An exclusive "tropical" rubber strap also debuted with the watch and was highly resistant to wear, salt water, and ultraviolet rays. This sleek and sporty aesthetic helped make the Aquanaut a huge success.
The present Travel Time Reference 5164A features an automatic movement offering dual time zones, local and home day/night indicators, and the date. Crafted from stainless steel and fitted to a supple rubber strap, this Aquanaut is perfect for the frequent traveler. The timepiece is accompanied by its presentation box, papers, setting pin, and all original accessories.
