This limited edition Duomètre á Chronographe features an intriguing mechanical movement that drives the current time and chronograph from two separate barrels. As the watch runs and the chronograph is used, the release of power from both barrels' mainsprings is controlled by a shared escapement and balance wheel. Both springs can be wound from the watch's single crown when either power reserve is low, as indicated by independent hands on each side of the dial.
When reading the watch, the current time is displayed in the upper left sub dial and a gold center seconds hand is uniquely stacked beneath the chronograph seconds counter. Hours and tens-of-minutes are recorded by the chronograph in the upper right sub dial with individual minutes counted inside the rounded window. Further setting this watch apart from other impeccable timekeepers is its lower sub dial that has a jumping seconds hand with the ability to provide a chronograph reading down to 1/6 of a second.
Accompanied by its original packaging, presentation box and papers, this Jaeger-LeCoultre reference Q6011420 is a rare and innovative timepiece worthy of the most curated collection.
The watch is in overall good condition with discoloration to the case. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
