The Virgil Abloh-designed Nike Air Jordan 1 Off-White Retro High OG "UNC" was inspired by Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. The high-top pair features the iconic UNC Tar Heels blue and white. 

The design carries a two-tone composition, with a white leather base and dark powder blue overlays. Additionally the pair features detached wings, a floating swoosh, orange accents, a red zip-tie and “Off-White for NIKE” printed on the inner sidewalls. The look is completed with “AIR” on the midsole and “SHOELACES” printed on the laces, design details Virgil is known for. 

Prior to Virgil’s passing on November 28 2021, he was the Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director. The Nike Air Jordan 1 Off-White Retro High OG "UNC" was Virgil’s third deconstructed take on the classic Air Jordan 1 silhouette. All the carefully crafted design attributes found in this pair were some of the details that contributed to Virgil’s success and ability to convey a handmade quality to his sneaker designs.
