Description

Original painting of The Birds used for the cover of Cinefantastique magazine in 1980 (Vol 10, No 2).

In 1980 when Kirk Henderson was commissioned to design the cover of Cinefantastique magazine. Hitchcock's The Birds was already a legendary horror film. Henderson not only included Tippi Hedren and the menacing birds in his artwork, he also included a tonal blue portrait of the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. Included with the piece is a copy of the original magazine, which is attached in a clear sleeve on the reverse of the frame (please see photograph of the back of the frame).
