Description

Paige Neuhauser (American, b. 1957).

"The placement of color to define space and line is integral to my work. However, it is secondary in my search for pure composition—that which will withstand any combination of line or color." —Paige Neuhauser

Neuhauser's ongoing exploration of photographic realism, the use of limited color and an interest in the development of the urban landscape form the basis of her work. Incorporating an appreciation of the built environment as well as a sense of cultural irony, she captures everyday contrast found between the purely utilitarian cityscape and the wit and exuberance of America. Neuhauser celebrates the form, tension and composition of beauty found within the often overlooked urban environment of our recent past.
