Provenance

Two pairs of identical lights were sold by Christie's in London June 13, 1991 - Lots 30 & 31. They came from Croome Court and collections of the 6th Earl of Coventry (1722-1809) and had been acquired in Paris in the marchand-mercier Poirer in September 1763 for the price of 312 livres each.


Another identical pair was included in Sotheby's Monaco 15 June 1996 sale, lot 152 and in Sotheby’s Monaco June 14, 1997 sale lot 133.
