Description
Reference 6238, also known as the "Pre-Daytona", is the immediate predecessor of the first Cosmograph Daytona - reference 6239. Interestingly, they were made concurrently for a handful of years, with Ref 6238 serial numbers running as late as 1968, (circa 1.69m serial numbers), and Ref 6239 examples displaying serial numbers as early as 922k from 1963. This Rolex chronograph bears an early 964 serial dating back to 1963, featuring a silvered sunburst dial and stainless-steel Oyster bracelet.
