Description

North Italian Baroque gilt and repoussé metal-mounted mirror.
- Crest centered with cherub surrounded by scrolling foliage.
- Foliate corner mounts.
- Probably Venetian.
Condition Report
GoodMirror panels with typical oxidation, foxing and sporadic losses to silvering.
Loss to glass approx. 5 cm long to narrow vertical border of top plate along lower right side.
Small loss to upper left corner of outermost narrow border and along diagonal edge of lower raised plate.
A few small cracks along outer narrow glass border; these generally visible in catalogue photographs. Scattered rubbing and discoloration to gilding, this primarily on lower left foliate corner mount and cherub mask and not significant.
