Description
Medicom Toy My First BE@RBRICK Baby Black & Silver Version.
As a spinoff to the classic BE@RBRICK, the My First BE@RBRICK Baby was created with a rattle inside to imitate a kids toy. This model has a full front in black, and the rear side in silver. The transparent body exposes black and silver colored rattle-balls.
First produced in 2001, BE@RBRICKs were created by Medicom Toy founder, Tatsuhiko Akashi, as promotional gifts for guests of the World Character Convention in Tokyo. A crossover between Medicom’s early humanoid toy, the “Kubrick,” and the ever-popular teddy bear, BE@RBRICKs are instantly identifiable in their shape, and each BE@RBRICK is a white canvas for creativity.
Each BE@RBRICK follows a similar build — a swivel head and waist, with ball-joint arms and legs — and comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 3.5cm to 70cm. Collaborations range from artists like Jackson Pollock, KAWS and Hajime Sorayama to fashion brands like BAPE, Chanel and Jimmy Choo, as well as other culturally relevant groups like the Van Gogh Museum, Disney, Nike and Colette.
Their far-reaching scope and dominant presence in the collectibles landscape have made the BE@RBRICK one of the most sought-after and well-recognizable collectibles in the market.
