Fantastical in appearance, Dragon Scale calcites have only been found in one locality in the world: the Sweetwater Mine in southeastern Missouri. This impressive specimen derives its deep grey color from the presence of chalcopyrite trapped within overlapping scalenohedral calcite crystals.
