Created in the 1930s, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is a watch that embodies a distinctive modernity, inspired by the Art Deco period. While the first concept of the Reverso was made as a commission by a Swiss businessman who desired a timepiece that could withstand the rigors of mallet-waving during polo, the watch became an immediate success after it was made available in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s line of production.
The watch is in overall good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall good condition with minor surface wear. Strap has minor signs of stretch and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Dial is in overall good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Please be advised that bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) cannot be shipped outside the country of sale. We reserve the right to remove these bands prior to shipping.
