Description
During World War II, IWC gained military customers, particularly from the German Luftwaffe. This led to the creation of the Big Pilot's Watch in 1940, designed for bomber pilots. It featured a large, 46.2mm steel case, simple dial, big crown for easy use with gloves, and a thick strap. The Big Pilot’s Watch became iconic for its readability and has influenced IWC designs ever since.

Very GoodThe watch is in overall very good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
