Description
The Chronomètre à Résonance series is one of F.P. Journe's crowning works, cementing his position as both a master watchmaker and visionary genius. The movement contains two balance springs, which through the resonance phenomena, synchronise in beat rate and improves the overall accuracy of the watch. The present example belongs to a very early batch of this landmark series, differentiated by its smaller case size of 38mm and movement made of brass instead of the later standard rose gold.
Condition Report
Very GoodThe watch is in very good overall condition with very minor signs of wear only. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Please be advised that bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) cannot be shipped outside the country of sale. If these watches are purchased outside of Hong Kong, we will replace with calf leather bands prior to shipping.
