Description
The Datejust collection is arguably the most diverse collection since its birth in 1945. The 1600 is no exception, launched in 1969, when Rolex offered a Datejust with a smooth bezel, contrary to what was familiar from sister references 1601 and 1603. This subtle difference created a sleek and dressy feel.
Condition Report
The watch is heavily worn throughout and is in need of restoration. Case is in overall fair condition with moderate surface wear. Bracelet has moderate signs of stretch, scratches, and surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Buckle has moderate signs of scratches. Dial has signs of being worn. Hands have signs of pitting. Crystal has minor signs of scratches. Caseback has signs of scratches. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
