Description
Introduced in 1999, the J12 was the creation of Chanel’s then‑artistic director Jacques Hélleu. Its name was inspired by the world of yacht racing—a passion of Hélleu’s—at a time when the legendary J‑class 12‑meter yachts, once icons of regattas like the America’s Cup, were enjoying renewed attention. Drawing on their sleek lines and enduring spirit, Hélleu envisioned a timepiece that would embody both beauty and resilience. The J12 emerged as a watch that was not only refined and elegant but also practical and durable, redefining the modern sports watch through Chanel’s lens of timeless design.
