A card stock window poster for a Helen Shapiro performance with The Beatles as one of the support acts.
- The concert took place at the Empire Theater, Sunderland, England on the 9 th February 1963.
- The show was part of The Beatles first ever United Kingdom.
- This work is presented unframed.
The graphics and design of the poster are extremely bright and bold with The Dynamic Beatles listed directly under Helen Shapiro on the bill. At the time of the performance The Beatles just had two single releases. ‘Love Me Do’ released on the 5 th October 1962 is listed above their group name in bold white lettering and ‘Please Please Me’ released on the 11th January 1963. At the time of the Sunderland gig ‘Please Please Me’ sat at number 3 in the UK charts.
The show took place exactly one year prior to the Beatles’ legendary performance on the Ed Sullivan Show in New York City.
