This away "Association Edition" jersey was worn by Jaren Jackson Jr. on November 3, 2024 in the 2nd half, when the Memphis Grizzlies played the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jackson recorded a double-double, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 1 steal. The Grizzlies lost to the Trail Blazers, 115-113.
Jackson quickly established himself as one of the top freshmen in the country at Michigan State, as he became known for his defensive prowess. An athletic center that can guard all five positions on the court, Jackson went on to win a host of awards and all Big Ten honors by the end of the 2017-2018 college basketball season. At the end of his freshman year, Jackson won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and was named to the Big Ten’s All-Freshman Team and the All-Big Ten Third Team.
Jackson was drafted with the 4th pick in the 1st round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. Now in his 6th season, Jackson has become the anchor of the Grizzlies defense and is considered among the elite defenders in the NBA. His work on the defensive end of the court led to him being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Jackson led the league in blocks in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons on his way to being named to All NBA Defensive 1st Team in each of those seasons. Jackson has grown his offensive as well, averaging career highs in points and assists this season. Jaren Jackson Jr. is part of a formidable trio alongside Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, as the Grizzlies look to keep making noise in the Western Conference.
At the time of cataloging, his career averages were 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.42 assists.
Jackson is a one-time NBA All-Star.
