On January 2, 2023, Mitchell scored 71 points against the Chicago Bulls, becoming just the seventh player in NBA history to score 70 or more in a single game. In addition to this record, it was the most points scored by an NBA player since the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant scored 81 against Toronto in 2006.
